After such a challenging year, it's tempting to want to wipe the slate clean for 2021 and not look back, but we think adversity makes our successes all the more important to acknowledge. Here are just some of the things we've accomplished this year.
We celebrated 7 years as a business.
We launched a blog and enhanced our services in the areas of occupant health & safety, corporate sustainability reporting, building materials life cycle impact, and indoor air quality testing.
We welcomed new team members (Aimee Smith) and cheered on those pursuing new credentials (Julie Mollica, Fitwel Ambassador; Kirsten Bailey, GPCP & Fitwel Ambassador; Gregor Braugman, Council-certified Residential Indoor Environmentalist; Kevin Harris, LEED AP BD+C).
We were selected as one of 2020's Best Places to Work by the Albuquerque Business First.
We learned to thrive in a virtual team environment and connected with so many groups around the country to teach (and learn) about sustainability and human health in the context of a viral pandemic and climate crisis.
Our projects achieved not only certification successes, but also significant industry awards this year:
University of New Mexico Physics & Astronomy Interdisciplinary Sciences Building (ENR Southwest Best Green Project; ASA-NM's Large Project of the Year; NAIOP 2020 Chairman's Award)
University of New Mexico Johnson Center Expansion & Renovation (ASA-NM's Large Project of the Year - 1st Runner Up)
Central New Mexico Community College Education Collaborative Building (AGC-NM's Best LEED Certifiable Building)
Montessori of the Rio Grande Charter School (AIA-ABQ 2020 Design Awards Honor Award - General Design)
Arroyo del Oso Elementary School (AIA-ABQ 2020 Design Awards Honorable Mention - Unbuilt)
As 2020 comes to a close, we're grateful that we had the continued ability to make a difference in the built environment, and for the ability to maintain our personal connections from a distance. In the coming year we're hopeful for the chance to reconnect in person with our clients, friends, and community.
